FREE Ziyad Yaghi
On July 27th, 2009, our peaceful apartment complex was suddenly invaded by armed FBI agents and a swat team who arrested my twenty-one year old son, Ziyad Yaghi, from the pool. The reason: In 2006 at age 19, he went to Jordan and the West Bank to visit family members in order to learn more about his heritage. On that sunny July day my worst nightmare began...
Ziyad is charged with trying to kill and maim people abroad and is awaiting his trial which is assumed to be in late September! Ziyad had no intention of what the FBI is claiming and this entire ordeal has caused us so much pain and grief.
What is the FBI gaining from all of this? To keep the American people feeling that there is a “threat” when in fact there is no such thing! A young man of 19 traveled abroad and is now jail.
Is this for real the US? Is this how United States treats its own citizens or just citizens who have a different religious belief? We are a normal American family. Ziyad in fact will give the last dollar in his pocket to a homeless person! Ziyad, my peaceful son, would get mad at me when I killed ants in the kitchen! He said to me, “are they bothering you? You should just let them be!" Ironically now the FBI is accusing him of trying to kill and maim people abroad! A young man who won’t even kill ants is going to harm a human being?
This has to stop! The profiling and oppression of Muslims in America has gone too far! All Americans should be paying attention to how American citizens are being stripped of their civil rights. Please urge President Obama to look into this and condemn what the FBI is doing to Muslims all over America and change the laws that allow this kind of treatment and oppression towards us!
Please help Ziyad!
I need ALL of you to do this. If you have already done so, PLEASE take a few minutes to pass it along and urge others to do the same?
Sign the petitions and write letters to the people on charge. Come on, just think about it. What would you do if this was you or your child?
I urge you to PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE! Sign the petitions and forward it to people on your FaceBook, mailing list, etc.
It's the little things we do that can make a difference.
Ziyad is locked down, shackled, and humiliated. Every society is judged by how it treats its least fortunate amongst them. If you feel that you can just sit back and read about Ziyad and do nothing to repel this injustice and that it can never happen to you, think again.
